Revised Draft Statement of Commitment to Children’s Rights in recognition of World Children’s Day

Date posted:

In early 2025, we invited submissions on our Draft Statement of Commitment to Children’s Rights. We have incorporated feedback from a variety of stakeholders and are publishing our revised Draft Statement of Commitment to Children’s Rights in recognition of World Children’s Day.

In 2026, we will be continuing our commitment to uphold children’s rights through:

  • consulting with children and young people about the revised draft statement to prepare a final version, with an accompanying child-friendly version
  • reviewing and finalising our NSW Ombudsman Practice Guide for Interacting with Children and Young People.

When finalised, our statement and practice guide will be published on our website in 2026.
