We are proud to release our Strategic Plan 2025–30, which sets our direction for the coming years, with the aim to focus and streamline our efforts for the greatest impact.
Parliament defines our functions, which can be broadly grouped under three categories: Complaints and Investigations, Systems Oversight and Reviews and Sector capacity building and education.
Uniting all our functions and people is our overarching strategic purpose: We pursue fairness for the people of NSW. Our strategic plan is a five-year road map for enhancing our delivery on this purpose with the following goals:
NSW Ombudsman, Paul Miller, stated that, “The Plan recognises the imperative of investing in our people and systems, to continuously improve and sustainably build our excellence into the future.”
Alongside development of the Strategic Plan, our organisational values have been refreshed. These act as the fundamental guiding principles shaping our identity, culture and decisions, and have identified these values that define what we stand for and believe in as being:
“Underpinning all of our work are our organisational values, central among which is our unwavering commitment to ethical and fair conduct in all that we do – Integrity Always”, said Mr Miller.
“Our core commitment is to operate with integrity. That means being honest, transparent, and respectful in all communications, carrying out our duties impartially for the public good and living up to the high standards of conduct we expect of others.”
