The NSW Ombudsman is hosting the third annual Public Interest Disclosures (PID) Awareness Week from 21 to 25 September 2026, encouraging NSW public sector agencies and officials to strengthen their understanding of how to support people who speak up about serious wrongdoing.

This year’s theme, ‘Supporting those who speak up and report serious wrongdoing,’ focuses on building awareness of the Public Interest Disclosures Act 2022 (PID Act) and fostering a strong speak-up culture across the NSW public sector.

The week includes a series of online events outlining agencies’ roles and responsibilities under the PID Act, as well as practical information about the support and protections available for those who speak up. Agencies are also encouraged to hold their own PID Awareness Week events and activities.

Public officials can register for the online events and access digital resources to support local PID Awareness Week activities.
